Please read the following information, and if you have any comments, questions or require any other
information, give us a call or email and we will be more than happy to answer.
Self Inspection:
With some registries you are required to have your donkeys inspected by an ADMS representative or veterinarian. IMDR feels that you are responsible for the representation of your own donkeys. So you complete the self inspection form for registration. If a donkey is not as stated on the registration, who is responsible? ADMS? The inspector? No you are! So why not certify your own donkey? A buyer has only one party to hold responsible, and you are that party. Just as it should be.

Customer Service:
You can call and ask any questions that concern you regarding your donkeys. We are always glad to help. Because of our large herd we have experienced just about everything, and can possible answer your needs. We try and get your registrations back to you in about two weeks after we get them. Usually it is sooner, depending on how many we get in each week.
Donkeys over 36" and under 38"
IMDR is the only registry that will accept registrations on these donkeys. Many donkey owners who own 36.01-38.00” have taken advantage of this special registration. A lot of the original donkeys were within this size range and should not have been arbitrarily eliminated from registration.
Register without paying membership fees:
You can register without paying any membership fees.
Name Changes:
IMDR has a check off box on the transfer form (which is right on the registration) which the breeder can allow or disallow a name change on foals. As long as a donkey has never produced foals, a name change is allowed. This allows you to make sure that your farm or chosen name stays with that donkey. You can approve a name change, but leave your farm name in front of the donkeys name.
Transfer any existing registration to IMDR.
Rather than sending your registrations to ADMS or for transfer, just send them to IMDR. We will honor those papers and transfer the donkey to your name and issue new registration papers.
Combine all your registrations into one registry.
If you have donkeys registered in several older registries you can send them in for transfer to IMDR.
No foal pictures required.
With IMDR you do not need foal pictures with your registration application. We have found that foal pictures do not help much for identification purposes, so we do not require pictures until a donkey reaches 2 years of age. This saves a lot of time for you. At your option you can still send in foal pictures. We are flexible.
Donkeys are considered mature at 2 years of age.
Other registries do not consider a donkey full grown until 3 years of age. IMDR gives a permanent registration at 2 years of age. If a donkey continues to grow after that time the height can be corrected. This is rare in miniature donkeys.
